Thanks for all the great random links! I had a great time having a look through them and I will organize a suitably random draw of 2 names out of the hat tonight.
But for today I have discovered Grace in small things.
What is GiST?
What?
Schmutzie created Grace in Small Things as a daily reminder to take notice of the positive things we tend to overlook. Why?
Grace in Small Things exists because we are choosing not to allow the noisiness of life to rob us of the time and energy to be mindful of ourselves and those we love and to recognize the grace that exists in small things.
I am taking a stand against negative things in my life and making changes. This is a start. I may not post every day but am going to share some thoughts here and there.
So here’s my 3 things of the day.
- A satisfying ache in my bones after a long walk with my friends this morning.
- A little buzz when a hitherto unknown reader of my blog let me know she enjoys popping past and reading.
- Anticipation at viewing Kaela’s new beagle pup this afternoon.
What about you? Got any small things you want to share? Comment and link so we can all share. That’s gotta be a good small thing non?

So true, it is the small things that count: a lovely cup of tea, being greeted at the gate by The Labradors and stopping to watch the Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph while driving home.
Your three things are great, nothing like a good walk with friends, a unexpected compliment and OH a new puppy, that’s absolutely fabulous!!!!!
At our house we always try to make the small things count!!!

Lovely – I enjoy the stopping and counting of blessings
The thought that there are leftovers for dinner and I don’t have to cook!
The smell of the Weegellia (I have no idea if that is how you spell it 0 pretty pink smelly flowers), and how the house smells when it is clean
and my little boy’s kisses!

I love how everything has a name or category to be put into. I try to be grateful for many things each day. I make a mental list every night before I fall asleep and say thanks for everything positive I can think of.
Today, a call from my daughter, a hug from my son, Happy catching his frisbee out of mid air, fresh bed linen, great dinner (which I did not have to cook), a card from a friend, who I haven’t heard from in a long time. And I too like to stop by.

Sometimes husby and I do this when we go to bed – especially if it’s been a bad day – list 3 good things that happened during the day – then you go to sleep in a positive frame of mind. It’s a good habit to have I think.

What a great idea! I could really use this at the end of every day. Definitely something to start. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing GiST. I do count my blessings every night & one of them is that everyone in the family had a good day. But one of the small things that I love is when my daughter cooks my fav breakfast – an omelette!
