(This was Tuesday)
- On Tuesday it was HOT
- DAMNMNMNN Hot
- We camped out in the lounge room eating snacks and hiding under the air conditioner
- That night (Tuesday) Slinky (of the Black Cat Malinky variety) had a fight with another cat
- The next morning I found out he had some yucky ‘puncture wounds’ in his hind legs
- $108 worth of vet later and he is fit as a fiddle
- But he doesn’t like the squirt of antibiotics I have to give him down his neck twice a day
- I don’t like giving him the squirt of antibiotics either
- Such is life
- Today is colder
- Heh heh – that means it’s 17 degrees C
- Crazy weather
- I have found some blogs I enjoy
- This is one
- and This is another
- And another
- I could tell you the reasons why I like them but it doesn’t seem important suddenly.
- I just do
- I read Rox’s blog today which took me to No. 15’s blog which took me the long way around to this lovely etsy seller and I bought these lovely prints
- Naughty Rox.
- I have been spinning up the dyed gear and have totally enjoyed the difference of all three fibres
- It’s rather exciting, but at the same time scary, to spin with a hope of creating enough yarn to make a garment
- Gulp
- I am trying not to think about that.
- I have been slogging away at my ‘that which shall not be named’ project
- ….by that I mean the Habu jacket
- (Ha! Just named it)
- I decided to do the fronts and back all in one piece so I didn’t have to seam up the sides with the teeeeeny tiny thread.
- I am almost up to changing to one teeeeeny tiny thread with the cotton instead of 2 teeeeeny tiny threads (Please note RoseRed)
- I am feeling wishy washy about all other projects until I complete this project as I feel it has been going on too long.
And I think that’s enough for today. Anyone got anything they can add to that? Random thoughts and links (but not spam spam spam) appreciated. Fanks.
In fact. I feel a little fibre giveaway coming on.
Leave a comment with a link that is interesting and random to go into the draw.
Up for grabs will be 100gms of sock yarn I have in my stash. And maybe some other stuff too. So I might take 2 bites of the apple. 2 winners! Hurrah.
(And for those interested I am going to do a destash on the weekend)…..all this spun fibre is piling up and I need some space.

Good God that’s hot! I hope your offer was not a brain melt down! ;o) Ha, now I have a name for the feeling I get sometimes, when I have something going on for too long, and can’t concentrate on other things until it’s done – wishy washy!

hello – there is rain here now, I looked at a house with a jacaranda out the front yesterday, they are the best happiest trees and really make Sydney.
sock yarn is the cure of all unhappiness unless you are in the middle of a sock crisis

Needled is one of my all-time favourite blogs. Love reading feminist textile history. Random link – another favourite – books, ephemera and serendipity http://www.forgottenbookmarks.com/

You rediscovered needled for me thankyou!! I found it aages ago but didn’t bookmark and then couldn’t remember it and never found it again so now reunited. I’m a wee partial to the occasional librarian blog too. Here’s a link I randomly pulled from stuff I had marked. I’m still yet to make the time to improve my skills, maybe this week. http://thesilverpenny.homestead.com/freeprojectneedlefelting.html

We also had a heat wave this week with temperatures up to 35C. We had the aircon on which is a 1st time for us in spring. It’s cooling down today. My daughter just emailed me this

Which weather app is that in your pic? I like the look of it.
If you are sick like me and like to track just how hot or cold it is, check out http://www.eldersweather.com.au/ You can put in your suburb and look at the 24 hour history. Not really helpful when it is really hot and you don’t have air-con, but it can explain why you feel so cranky on those days!
