Are you ready for the Tour de France KAL? I’m not.

I can’t choose. I’m in the Polka Dot Jersey again because, really, I enjoy the challenge.

  1. Finsh the Wips – Tallis and Kyoto
  2. Start something new – February Lady Sweater
  3. Spin it and knit it – Alhambra
  4. Half finished tricky socks – Latvian Wedding Socks

If you want to help why not leave a comment. I have ‘bribage’ – 2 x skeins of yummy Koigu could be yours……

I will be drawing a winner from comments (should you choose to help), using a Random number generator….on July 4th – late – Eastern Standard time. I know – not much time – but still enough to cast a vote.

The poll is for added visual interest on my part – I love me a gadget.

So go on….help me make a choice.

I am studiously avoiding making promises about the Tour de France – deadlines are scary! Good luck with your project – I ticked spin/knit – hope it wins.

Oh, and I had someone pull out of Pay it Forward so the spot is yours :-)

  2. 2008 July 2

I said the wedding socks. I want to see them done!

And I’m always up for bribbage!

  3. 2008 July 2

And verrry noice bribage it is too ;-P

  4. 2008 July 2

    mmmm – koigu!

i voted for the FLS – just because it’s so much fun to cast on new stuff – and I’ll be knitting one in the near future – but I love Alhambra (the scarf I am presuming?)
Did you get a little joy in your post box today?

  5. 2008 July 2

I’m not ready for the KAL either and I’m supposed to be a leader!
All your choices are good contenders. I ended up choosing the spin and knit scarf for a polka dot project because as a non-spinner that would be the hardest for me. The end result is lovely.

  6. 2008 July 2

Start something new. Why? Because you know you really want to! And also because the February Lady Sweater is a beauty and I would love to see you in it!

  7. 2008 July 2

I voted for Spin To Knit, because that scarf is gorgeous! And I think it would be even more interesting knitting it up with handspun.

  8. 2008 July 2

Go on – start something new! The Feb sweater is just so purdy, and you can leave the other wips for car trips and rainy days not in July. :)

  9. 2008 July 2

    I’m on Team Liquigas!

I voted for the WIP’s – because there is no bigger mountain to climb – then cleaning up the WIP’s :)

    Good Luck!

I say give in to startitis – the February Lady Sweater…

  11. 2008 July 2

Oh I voted the “spin and knit’”cause Im in a real big spin mood now and have some gorgeous fawn grey wool thats coming out all tweedy,Im so excited to knit something with it,it would nice someone else is spinning madly and knitting the product of that labour with me!!!

  12. 2008 July 2

I have to say the February Lady Sweater is gorgeous and if you knit it now you will be able to wear it in Spring which isnt really that far away now.

  13. 2008 July 3

I say go spin and knit as your spinning looked great on Saturday at camp.

Atleast you get a little variation with the spinning and knitting. Spin till you can knit and spin when you need a break from the knitting.

  14. 2008 July 3

Your spinning is always so beautiful so I too have voted for Allhambra. I don’t think I have ever touched Koigu so I have to be selfish and hope I win!!!

  15. 2008 July 3

I’m no help. I need to pick a TDF KAL project myself! That said … I think spin to knit would be really neat but don’t have a good “real” answer for you. How’s that for wishy-washy? ;-)

  16. 2008 July 3

I picked the “spin to Knit” group, because i always love seeing your spinning- it’s gorgeous! Yep. i’m selfish. All about what I want to see here. ;)

  17. 2008 July 3

I voted for the February Lady Sweater because it is really pretty. Will be looking forward to see what you get to do.

  18. 2008 July 3

Even I can’t decide for you. I’d really like to say spin and knit – that scarf is gorgeous. But I’m a bit torn, because I think Feb Lady is great (and I’m knitting one too…). Nope, I’m going with Spin and Knit – because you are already knitting a cardi (your Martha) and I think a lace scarf is a good polka dot challenge!

  19. 2008 July 3

I LOVE your voting poll!! You are so organised, I haven’t even thought about the TdF KAL!! Damn… I think you would like to Team Spin to Knit: you will enjoy following the whole process through. It will be a great feeling of achievement, also, I googled the Latvian national costume, and believe me, the scarf suits us all better!!!

  20. 2008 July 3

I voted for the FLS. The more I look at this pattern, the more I think I will not be able to resist casting on for one myself.

  21. 2008 July 3

Me too for the FLS, cos I’d be totally interested in seeing how you interperate the pattern!

  22. 2008 July 4

Any time the world can receive another Kyoto, I’m on board. Good luck!

  23. 2008 July 4

I am in the same boat you are in with the choice of TDF KAL project. . . only I am not organised enough to have posted and asked people to help me with it. The peril of disorganisation is my own private knitting hell! ;-) And that is why, with a US holiday looming on the horizon, I am sitting in front of the computer on the evening of 3rd July, thinking maybe I should buy some new yarn to start a new project. . .

  24. 2008 July 4

Spin and knit… I’m thinkig about doing it, so it would be good to have a “friend” to chum with.
I have some merino/bamboo bonkers fibre which is on my spindle, and spindling and knitting is a good combination, spin a bit, knit a bit and all portable as well.

  25. 2008 July 4

OK as an organiser of the TDFKAL let me say good on you Donni for getting this poll organised… and what are all these other commenters doing who haven’t chosen their projects yet!?!?! But in the interests of full self-disclosure, I realised last night that I have pretty much zero interest in the project I’ve had tagged ‘TDF’ for about the past 6 months now… and Fiver says ‘why don’t you finish that cardigan for meeee’ with a cute little look in his eye and I’m nearly ready to flip flop choices at the last minute…
all that is to say, I vote for spin/knit. Mwah!

  26. 2008 July 4

I have full confidence you can finish them all. You’ve got 3 weeks. And 2 rest days (for the tricky socks) with no race to distract you at all! haha.

  27. 2008 July 4

I voted for the Feb Lady Sweater as it’s an easy & relaxing project which will be great when watching the beautiful scenery during the race. I am knitting the sweater now & it’s a good TV watching project. Happy knitting.

  28. 2008 July 4

February Lady Sweater got my vote. Very pretty.

  29. 2008 July 4

Starting something new is always fun. FLS it is.

  30. 2008 July 4

Do we get a flag to wave from the stands as you go knitting by!

  31. 2008 July 4

i choose the february lady sweater because it’s such a lovely pattern!! when does the KAL starts?
