I miss you this much….

Steve flew to Japan on Tuesday.
For Work.
He says he hates traveling for work.
I love travel. Full Stop.
Even for work.
Phonecalls have been sporadic.
Something about global roaming not working.
Tuesdays phonecall
Hi Don. Guess where I am? Yep. In the Qantas First Class Lounge. Some famous people are here too. Neal Perry and Stan Grant at the moment. Others too – will tell you later. Um, yep the foods great. Gotta go. Business class is boarding.
(Dear Steve – I had baked beans for dinner)
Wednesdays phone call
Hi Don. Nope – didn’t get your email. Can’t send or receive any. It costs $89.00 to send an email from the hotel. Gotta go. Got a meeting.
(Dear Steve. Guess what? Tim (the dopey beagle) hurt his eye on the lawn mower when he forced his way into the shed and broke the door off . I had to take him to the vet? In-between soccer training and reading recovery.)
Thursdays phone call
Hi Don. Yep – I’ll say hi to the kids. Hi Kids. Gotta Go. I’m at the Sumo wrestling match. Bye.
(Dear Steve – the kids are being little b*stards tonight. I am threatening them with ‘bad stars’ to go on their Charts – it doesn’t seem to be having any effect. I had to squeeze goopey stuff into Tim’s eye three times today)
*********************************************************************************************************** I wonder what Friday’s phone call will bring? I can only imagine………
Hi Don, I ditched work for the day and went shopping for you. I said ‘hang the expense’ and I looked up Yarn Stores in Tokyo and bought everything I thought you would like. I’ll need an extra suitcase to get it all home…………

Oh, I hope Tim is OK now, poor beagle. It’s hard to be apart, but think of the reunions!!!
Steve gets the bestest business trips – I’m jealous too.
love your conversations. Can’t wait to see what yarn he brings back.
Just say – Noro – buy Noro – Noro anything! – But lots of it!!
You poor thing – I will travel for any reason at all! – and I have no sympathy for him and heaps for you – and the canine!!
Yep, I bet that’s exactly how the Friday phone message will go. Hope so anyway.
Oh he’d better come home with good stuff!
My sister’s husband travels a lot and goes on and on about how hard it is. She’s always saying, ‘yeah but you get a full night’s sleep in a hotel and breakfast made for you and you don’t have to do dishes and washing and manage all on your own.
It’s so true.
teehee, i know it shouldnt but this made me laugh. im sure youll find a way to make him pay
ha! I’m sorry, but when they say “it’s not fun – you don’t understand” I have NO sympathy – you are right – 1st class lounges, those air seats that turn into beds, when Flash returns he is always in hotel mode for a few days (till we get him straightend out again)
still – he did traipse frankfurt for yarn last time – must have been the guilts!
Finally. A photo of me that shows my good side. Bout time.
Poor Steve. All that fancy schmancy travel, those elite hotels, expensive restaurants. Hell. Just hell I say.
Eye goop givers are far under-rated. Hugs chick.
I wish you luck on that last phone call…but do you really trust him to buy GOOD yard ???
The worst trip, I think, was when Chris was in Belgium for two weeks and we didn’t talk for the first four days due to the time difference, and Vaughan got constipated because he always gets nervous when Daddy is gone and the not-talking didn’t help, and Chris left a message and FORGOT TO SAY HI TO THE KIDS and we fought over email for half a week. Thank goodness he’s not traveling monthly anymore. He’s never brought me yarn, but he has brought excellent chocolate.
Fingers crossed!
. . . and THAT is why women like to travel.
I can totally recommend red wine and good chocolate. That’s all that’s getting me through Philip being away for 9 days. (In passing, that’s pathetic stamina.) So far Til’s cut 2 molars, got a cold and I’ve had rotten ovulation cramps and pulled a muscle in my back. I feel for you (at about the 9th intercostal…) in having two of the little darlings to solo parent and an injured canine. Thinking happy thoughts, especially after the second glass of wine ; )
Poor Tim, is it serious? I hope that Friday’s phone call comes true to reward you for the long week you seem to be having.
I don’t remember posing for that photo (Gloom, with a capital G)
My other half surprised me on his last visit to China, by bringing me back a silk shawl and duvet. I am still in shock.
You can always hope the yarn bandits capture S and force him buy something scrummy
