Last night before I hopped into bed I rummaged around in my sock drawer to find some socks to wear (can’t sleep if I have cold feet). I pulled out one Whitby, one Nutkin, one Bayerishe, then hit pay dirt with the ribbed socks I had made so long ago with lovely yarn from Jae.
I popped them on, had a little look at my feet wriggling happily in them, and it occurred to me that I had never never never imagined in previous (pre-knitting) years that I would not only own a drawer full of hand knitted socks let along actually knit them ALL the TIME.
In fact, I always had a bit of a weird thing about socks only being white cotton, but then again that was probably around the time of them being huge slouchy things a-la-leg warmers/80’s. (Don’t judge me….)
I felt a little nicer towards my Francie socks that I had flung in the corner with the dust bunnies, (it’s an unusual toe and I had mucked it up and frogged it and re-knit it and frogged it – then flung it)(then started on the second sock) and promised myself to continue with my latvian wedding socks.
To help the love of socks along I got a nice parcel of Sock yarn in courtesy of Elin and her never ending de-stash!
1 x Have you any wool – 24 karat
1 x Madelaine Tosh – Mourning Dove
I know the general rule of thumb is ‘last in, first out’ with sock yarn – it’s going to be hard to choose which one I start a pattern with next.
And sitting in my inbox in Ravelry was a lovely message from the moderator of the Thrifty Socks Knitters Group saying that Mojo had been selected as one of the sock patterns for the June Knit-a-long! Yay.

I’m having socks traumas at the moment – so it’s good to hear all your happy socky news

I love Elin (and was very restrained in her last 2 de-stashes!!) and your Mojos are coming with me to Fiji for my knitting pleasure!! I adore them!
I just stumbled onto your blog and have spent the better half of lunch browsing around! Love all the lovely yarn and knitted things pictures *pet pet*. And am happy to find some inspiration for Ravelry surfing too.
That yellow is GORGEOUS! Love it. Do me a favour and make something with that first? Something lacy. You know. Indulge this non-knitter a little with some sock knitty photos! xx
Elin has the best yarn, hey!! But now you do! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
