sweet about me *

(Thanks Ailsa for the above sign)
I had a wonderful day yesterday.
Spoilt rotten in such lovely ways by all sorts of people, thoughts, actions and pressies.

Rox had showered me with a wonderful parcel including some Kollage Corntastic, a lovely Rosalie Scarf Kit AND Norah Gaughan’s Berrocco 2 pattern book. The Yarn Guru had sent along some Dream in Smooshy in the most wonderful colourway, Ravelry alerted friends via the Birthday cake icon and messages and emails were sent. Phone calls from family and friends. All wonderful.

Flowers were dropped off, Breakfasts at McDonalds were eaten (guess who chose to go there?), wandering around shops and craft fairs with my Mum, cooking Stir fry in my new Wok, cuddling the kids, all stuff that lovely days are made of. Steve indulged my whims of a lovely book I had been eyeing off and an electric wok. He didn’t get why I would want an appliance for a birthday present but I figure if I have to cook I may as well have stuff that I want to cook with, non?

So another year marches on, and on reflection, I am more content than I have ever been. I am surrounded by a lovely partner and family. We live amongst good friends, in a special place in the world. We live well. We go to bed with smiles on our faces, our bellies full and our feet warm. What more could one want?
* loving this song at the moment.
