What’s that?
April 18, 2008
I am in the middle of a test knit….(shhhh, secret squirrel - can’t show photos), and it’s doing my head in!!!!!
Not the test knit, but the fact that when I say yes to a test knit I like to practice the elusive “One project at a time” thingy that is NEVER part of my vocab.
Facts
- I know that if I sit down tonight and tomorrow I will finish one sock.
- I will then have approx 1/3 of the other sock to finish.
- I thought I had to have them finished by the end of this week
- That was VERY VERY stressful for me - but I was up to the challenge
- Until I saw a BIG mistake halfway through the foot of one sock
- I had to frog it back about 3 inches
- I didn’t cry
- But I did curse
- Since I took up the needles for this pattern all the other Wips I have languishing around that seemed so uninteresting before suddenly are so appealing I almost can’t look at them
- I have spent valuable knitting time tonight trolling Ravelry for hat patterns
- I actually look quite terrible in hats
- I realise that when I go to Bendigo in a few months it’s going to be cold
- And then I won’t worry about not looking good in hats
But I can’t stay here for long. Gotta go knit. I certainly got a fair bit done today at the Feral Indoor Play Centre when I succumbed to the pleas of the offspring.

Oooh exciting. Perhaps I should become a test knitter, then I might actually finish some of my wips (provided of course I don’t actually have to test knit anything!) Can’t wait to see!

I love your name for the play centre. I refer to our local children’s museum as a “petri dish with toys.” The kids also have a gym class every Friday morning. No matter what, they get a bath on Friday nights.
Good luck with the knitting.

Ahh, Forbidden Knitting tastes twice as sweet. Well not quite the analogy I was hoping for, though the Feral Indoor Play Centre could drive you to eat your handiwork!!!

Hmm, yes, I’m considering hat patterns for Bendy, too (squee! So excited about seeing you there!).
Fortunately, my boys don’t even know there are such things as indoor play centres! They’ve never been. But they are passionately attached to the playground at McD’s, which is probably even worse for germs. Ah well, it gives their immune systems a workout, I suppose.
Good luck with overcoming your Deadline Aversion Syndrome - I’m a chronic sufferer myself. Maybe we should start a support group or something?

Wish I was going to Bendi! (sadness) But currently loving the cardis -all other knitting languishes! The knitting is always more fun than the things we HAVE to finish!

IS there a busload of you guys going for Bendi? If so, can you detour through Wagga? H.I. owes me a weekend!!!
