The weekly round up is a little different today – you have caught up with THE DRAMA of SPEW and RUNNING AWAY!The kids are only just getting the hang of the whole “Grounded” thing seeing as they are experiencing it for the first time. It’s a mantra at the moment.
Mum. Can I?????????????????……(add any of the endings)
- ……Have an Iceblock
- ……Get a video from the Video shop
- ……Have a friend to play
- ……go to the beach
- ……Have a lolly/candy
- ……Play on the Computer
- ……Go out the front and play in the Cubby
etc etc ad nauseum. I am wondering who is really under house arrest. Me or them. Interestingly enough I have observed that they are
- Playing better together
- Playing with their toys
- Not going crazy after having a ‘zone out’ period after watching some TV when they get home
- Going to bed earlier and getting up easier
Hmmmmm – bells are ringing. Thinking we will make some permanent changes along the lines of no TV after school. Ewwwww. That does sound rather harsh. Hmmmm. I shall ponder this later.
For the moment I show you (at Brissy Jane’s request) my practice piece I finished on Tuesday at the Silver course.

A brass Snowflake – just to get the hang of using that little itty bitty saw again. I am planing my next design for a pendant.
I have also been working on Knitzi’s Pattern and have nearly finished the pair – hopefully this weekend.
It’s a nice easy pattern to follow – although the tubular bind-off was only achieved by much concentration and complete following of Savannah Chick’s Tutorial .
Anyways…..I have been pondering the “You make my Day Award”.

Everyone that get’s one seems to have a bit of an anguish as to who to mention, but more so, worry about who they don’t mention. It’s a toughie really. I love blogging and love my blogging buddies. The one’s I know by first name and “talk to” either daily or via emails, they make my day. It’s hard to choose – liking naming a favourite child.
I was recenly awarded a “Nice Matters Award” from the Crafter’s Cupboard and when I read her reasons for awarding other bloggers, it was put so nicely that I have to follow suit. These are the first stops I make on Bloglines when I see an updated post. Some I know and some I don’t. But they make my day. (BTW these are my links for this week).

I can’t believe that fabulous snowflake is your practice piece!! It’s so good!!
And sock is lovely. And sock yarn is lovely too!
I hear more and more about people, who have kids, who don’t have telly at all. Interesting (and scary – what would I do without my reality tv??!!)

Lovely lovely socks and even lovelier snowflake (if that’s possible!) I’m looking forward to seeing the Jenny Wren pattern – and great recipients of the award! (and the kid thing – this morning I would have packed for mine if they’d mentioned running away!)

The snowflake is gorgeous! Kids today are so lucky. During my groundings there was no time to ask for candy, TV, etc because the Parental Units had long lists of activities like wall washing, garage cleaning, floor waxing, and more.

OMG, your kids! I just read your previous post and I laughed my head off when you unpacked their bags. Yes, someday it will be funny. Their story actually reminds me of the time my best friend and I decided to play “burglar,” – we dressed up in all black and sneaked out of my house, then went around the back and started pretending to “break-in”. Our baby sitter almost called the police. We were in trouble for a long, long time after that.

H.I. was just having one of those future parenting discussions wherin I lay down the law re audio visual entertainment (NO YOU CANNOT HAVE A WIII!). I then showed him the second list for FF&F. He laughed at getting the hang of being grounded then sighed and agreed. Man this parenting stuff is hard work with your partner!
