When the camping gets wet, the knitter gets knitting.
Ok. Enough already about the camping.
I did manage to get some stuff done though – as you can see.

1. nutkin, 2. firestarter, 3. noro, 4. neck thingey
- I worked through Nutkin – should be finished soonish.
- Finished one firestarter – improvised my own cuff pattern though. Can’t say the second sock will be the same though.
- Elin and I had a little swap and I got some Noro sock yarn in the colourway I had knit with before…..it arrived as we were leaving to go away – it had to come with me.
- This looks weird(er) in this photo – but better in real life. A bit of a play with the crochet hook and some lush silk/merino.
All in all I am happy with the progress although I hear many projects calling their names very very loudly and I don’t know how long I can keep them at bay. These include
- Jeanie
- Entrelac socks (I linked to Domesticat because it was this pair that inspired me)
- Kaela’s cardigan – a pattern yet to be chosen “but not one with holes in it” (me thinks that means not crocheted)
- Shibui knits something – LOVE that yarn.
- Must work up the courage to start the Habu Projects – want to do them – can’t seem to make a start.
I am still totally obsessed by the crochet thingey and discovered this FANTASTIC ebay seller that offer wonderful Japanese books – with FREE POSTAGE WORLDWIDE – knitting/crochet/zakka etc. The books are in Japanese but have such wonderful picture directions – so easy to understand. Needless to say I have put a few more into my “cart” to come and live at my house.

1. crochet, 2. crochet, 3. crochet, 4. crochet
Tomorrow I shall share the wonderful day I had today…..with 4 other bloggers, lots of cake, lunch and coffee.Ā And knitting.

I love the beautiful triangle of purling(?) in the Firestarter. I just want to look at how lovely it is. I love the contrast between the heel and the triangle part.
I have been lent a Zakka book and you are right: they are wonderful, this one has bits of English and French!!!
Jeanie is on my list of “must knit in 2008″. I think it is so gorgeous! now to pick the yarn…
Love the socks – you have been busy I want my own nutkins – I does I does! I will just have to finish the Noros and the Vog ons and then I can start!
We missed you at snb yesterday.
More stuff for me to knit! Firestarters and Nutkins look fab!
And I am contemplating Jeanie, mebbe for me, mebbe for my soon to be divorced sister (but mebbe lady Eleanor for her…)
Sounds like you had fun NOT on your camping trip!
Wow! I love both nutkin and firestarter!
oh I’m a sucker for japanese craft books! I can’t get enough of them!
Corrie:)
