Never say never
I thought that I would never see
a Clapotis Number three
but one should know by age 40
that to say “never” is rather naughty.
Although I have no intentions of casting on
the Ubiquitous pattern that some frown upon
Life has a way of casting gems
In the form of lovely friends
Into my path when least expected
One such friend must have detected
That behind my Ode sadness lurked
For my own Clap that didn’t work
She cast on a Clap with nary a word
And today I received my Own Clap, the Third
You can imagine my surprise and glee
To have delivered a HUGE box addressed to ME
I opened it with such a grin
I NEVER expected to see within
that box a lovely Clapotis
One knitted so beautifully and JUST FOR ME
Oh Joy! Oh Glee! I have my own
And joy oh joy I don’t have to groan
About the endless rows of stocking stitch
With a little drop here and there to bewitch
Thank you Nat, enough words can’t be found
to say how happily my Clap is wound
around my neck. A lovely hand-knit just for me
My Very own Knitting Natty Clapotis (No 3)

1. Clap, 2. Clap, 3. Clap, 4. Clap
(How did you know that a cold snap appeared today and I have it wound around my neck keeping me warm?) MWAH!

More pics more pics! Looks lovely! See…. its wonderful to have your very own clap!
Lovely clap – Georgie, Rosered and I are starting a Happy Clappy KAL soon (as soon as Georgie gets her yarn) Rose started a laceweight already but put it down until later so we can KAL (my first – so exciting) – just love yours – hope mine looks as lovely!
Oh, that’s beautiful. It’s making me want to knit one of my own. I’ve been considering various stash yarns, too…

You rock Donni! What a fab-o surprise and I love the colour – and very timely with the weather and all!
Your next submission to Yarnival then??!!
aww! That’s so sweet. Gorgeous colour.
I keep logging on to re-read the poem! Squeee!
great poem, beautiful project. Off the subject, but did you dye that skein number one, the one that came with a needle holder? I really like that and would like to know how it was dyed, and how it looked before spinning.
Donni, the poem is great! And nat – you did a beautiful job with the knitting. It is a gorgeous clapotis!
What a wonderful gift and poem!
