Yesterday was too nice for Kaela to go to school. I let her play hooky – then we went to the beach.
We wandered out on the breakwater, played/knitted at the beach, explored rock pools, sat Sea Snails on our knees, skipped stones into the water, ate gelato and milkshakes, played at the park and went home.

It was just the BEST day, ever.*
The montage above doesn’t really do the photos justice – but I didn’t think you would want to see them all blow by blow – just click on the links if you want to see them up close.
*(I said to the kids as we sat at the cafe….”This would have been lovely if Daddy was here” and Kaela looked me in the eye and said “Daddy wouldn’t have been here cause it’s Monday and he would have been at work”. I guess she was right, unless he played Hooky too).

You are way nicer to your kids than I am. But it sounds like a fun day! And I am sooooo moving to Australia; it looks gorgeous!
What a great mum you are Donni. I loved the photos (watched the slide show). How great to see the weather warming up. It looks like summer!
What a wonderful day! It’s definitely good to play hooky every now and then and make these days happen.
