But first!

My Knitters Treat Parcel has just arrived…..I ripped it out of the postie’s hands (well not really) and Kaela and I attacked it.

LOOOOOOOOOK – OMG! Mama Mia! Where do I start?

b

I got showered with yarn love! Socks that Rock in Lapis (oh how I have lusted after this yarn), and the very elusive Sock Candy in Cherries Jubilee, some beautiful Louet Gems Pearl in the most lush greeny olivey yumness. AND Tofutsies too (I have been wondering about this stuff it looks so nice). And Crystal Palace DPN’s, lush stitch markers and wonderful soaps – all local products, an IK mag *yay*…..and the cutest book mark I ever did see. (Sorry – can’t link that today)

Thanks Mia – such wonderful yummy stuff I am stressing about which one I will start my next project with. (We had shared via emails that if given the choice of candy or sock yarn we would take sock yarn – boy am I happy with that deal).

This is brief as although I had the most WONDERFUL weekend away (I will share photos tomorrow) I contracted a nasty cold/laryingitis/type thingey on the Thursday/Friday and had it all weekend. I so enjoyed myself but for the most part felt wretched and ‘achey’ and cold all weekend – and it has left me bedridden for the past day and a half at home – had to ship Hamish off to day care and friend’s houses so I could sleep whilst Kaela was at school.

So – back to bed – will share tomorrow.

  1. Valerie, there is a link to my blog. Come on over and check it out. I love to trade parcels.

  2. Just found this blog – don’t know who Mia is – but maybe she’d like a Canadian friend to send parcels to? :-)

  3. Wow! That is an amazing package!

I hope you feel better soon. Ugh.

  4. that is a serious amount of yarn,…I’m jealous! I’m also jealous of a whole weekend away knitting…if you run it next year please let me know! sounds wonderful!
    Corrie:)

  5. I can disprove that – I always wear a singlet!

Oh – and I love the new piccie you’ve got in your blog banner.

  6. I suspect Cindy is right (or Cindy’s Mum) – I didn’t have a singlet on and that caused it for sure……

  7. It must be the change in the weather – I had a cold over the weekend too – hope you feel better soon.
That is a fantastic package – I’ve got that issue of IK and I really want to try the entrelac socks.
Excellent selection of sock yarn – I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again – the TOFUtsies is divinely soft (although you need teeny tiny needles for it as it’s so fine). And that bookmark – I love the little sheep charm on it.

  8. Just what you need when you are feeling crappy. You are sooo lucky! Lookie at all that fabtastic (heh, love that!) sock yarn and other goody goodness. Much better than candy! Oh yeah! Hope you are feeling better soon.

  9. Yeah!!! It finally made it. I hope you have fun knitting the STR. It is very addictive. And feel better soon.

  10. What a fabtastic treat!! OK, I meant fantastic, but fabtastic is not too bad really!! Suck gorgoeus colours. I think we have the same sickness, hope you are feeling better. My mother expects it’s because of the non-wearing on singlets!!!
