It’s been a long fraught week for me….and I am SO glad I have reached the end of it. I wouldn’t have made it without having a huge whinge to my 2 distant Friends (Rox , Jae and blogless but not forgotten Jane)….I love my girlfriends.

With the heavy rain falling outside on a generally grey looking day I am finally realizing that I have to go home and pack up some stuff for what I am thinking will be one of the best weekends ever.
You see I am off to a knitting retreat for 2 nights. Yes. You read right. 2 nights. Sans Children. Sans Husband. Sans Cooking. Sans All Household Duties. I am pinching myself with the thought.
We will be staying here at Mount Keira Scout Camp. A place of memories for me as I used to go there for Brownie and Girl Guide Camps in my “youf”.
Only 10 hours to go and we will be cooked for all weekend. Saturday’s menu is a full cooked breakfast, hot lunch and Roast for Dinner…..dear god in Heaven.
Annie will be there. Tianne. Sharon, Ailsa.
Ailsa will be conducting a workshop on Lace Knitting and How to read Lace Charts, Kerry will be teaching us about Dying and another Workshop later in the day about Felting. Yours truly will be showing everyone the process of moving from Double Pointed Needles for Sock Knitting down to 2 circs and even the magic loop.
A lot of the ladies going are into the internet and they are so wonderfully accomplished knitters – knitting by rote….things they have done for years and years. But a few of us often turn their heads around at SnB when they spot us doing things we have found on the net – patterns like the Clapotis, or the Backyard Leaves, Magic Loop and even knitting with self patterning sock yarn.
So I am thinking they are going to get a lot out of the weekend too…..in fact as the heavens open up and HEAVY rain is forecast all weekend I can’t think of anything better to be doing.

So funny..it’s Thursday here. I almost felt bad for you, thinking it was Friday, but then I remembered you’re on the other side of the world.

I’m jealous. It’s sounds absolutely devine. I would only add a couple of cabana boys to fetch you cocktails and chocolate on a regular basis. Have a wonderful time!

And I’m guessing a little wine will be there too? Oh, 2 fabulous wool events on this weekend and I wasn’t able to get to either of them. Pooh! Incidentally, I love your new namebar photograph. My ambition is to get across this bridge during the annual Sydney-Woolie bike ride next year. It looks totally fabulous!
Hope the wool fumes haven’t made you too detached for the working week ahead!

That sounds so fun! I am going away with my husband sans enfants for a WEEK in June. First time in 13 years whoo hoo! I’m waiting for something to go wrong. 7 days camping in reletive comfort at a horse camp. Days of horeback riding through incrediable country with my sweetie, and evenings spinning by the fire. I can’t wait. I know exactly how you feel.
