My Cup (well, my Post Box) runneth over

FINALLY – the postie delivered some treasures I had been waiting for.

Jae – Peacock Shawl Creator herself had posted a lovely birthday surprise! Looky looky

j

4 Skeins of Hand painted Sock Opal Louet in that Lake Charlevoix colourway that Ailsa waxed lyrical about last week.

I is so lucky, so lucky I is.

Then I received the 4ply 100% Alpaca I ordered 2 weeks ago – 375gm and 1500m worth.

q

I am sure you can see how soft that is….OMG! No you can’t! Cause it’s mine – all mine – (insert evil cackle).

Whilst visiting Elizabeth’s site one day (she was my Hand spun Pal), I noticed some Liza Souza that always looks so lush. A swap was negotiated and I am posting off some lush red merino/silk blend to her – and my part of the bargain arrived today too! I know! You can’t stand yet another photo of fiberlushness but hang in there….

l

Can’t wait to spin it up!

Also, the postie dropped off my Birthday Shoes that my Mum had purchased. A couple of weeks ago Donna and I had been busily discussing our love for semi-solid sock yarns, and the need to purchase a pair of winter shoes that would show our hand knitted socks off.

Behold! The perfect pair.

c

Colorados – that look like Mary Janes at the front but open at the back! Perfect.

Now if you can still hang in for a few more photos I want to share the vista I partook in yesterday – remembering it is mid May – almost winter….you ready?

b

It is SO warm. Hamish had a blast with 4 other friends, and the Mummy’s sat and chatted and drank coffee from the local cafe. Life could be much much worse.

I wanted to mention that I had the most lovely of Mothers Days too – My Mum came down again early (remember last year?) (remember the HAIR) and sat in bed and Steve cooked breakfast for us (and burnt the bacon)(and the Smoke Alarm went so crazy he had to climb up and take the battery out)(which I understand defeats the purpose of smoke alarms)…. Lovely handmade gifts from anxious kiddies were unwrapped – lovely. Then Kaela and I went with Mum to Nana’s house and cooked her lunch and Kaela did her nails. It was really relaxing and I even got some knitting time in.

l

Oh! Almost forgot. Bayerische Progress shots – AM LOVING THIS SOCK!

q

So – think that’s enough.

Too much nice wool!! Scrumptious!!! Excellent sock showing off shoes too. I LOVE your Bayerische socks, and the leg is so short that I am almost (almost) tempted to knit them one day!! I have short legs. The weather is very weird. We are haing 20*C days here, though we have had bad fogs and crisp nights. It is a long and sunny Autumn!!!
