The Apple didn’t fall far from the tree…..
Mum had me when she was very very young
She was always making our clothes, knitting us jumpers, giving us love, giving herself
We have always been close – very very close
She is my best friend
I make her laugh
I make her try on clothes that she wouldn’t normally try on
I make her go to singing lessons
We work together most days. We fight rarely
This morning she came down for breakfast….we sat and ate breakfast in bed ( Steve the Wonder Man made it for us), and talked, ( as Steve said "All I heard was Yak, yak, yak"). We knitted and the kids threw themselves around enjoying the morning. Then Mum and I went and got my Grandma and took her shopping ( I pushed her wheelchair, Mum walked alongside, picking clothes for Nana, and occassionally for me and her). We went to lunch (after our big brekkie), then shopped some more, then I took them to afternoon tea. Then, after many hours we all went home to our respective houses. I sat with the kids, reading books and playing games, and then when they went to sleep I looked across at my lovely "husband" (we aren’t married yet you know), with Tim the beagle at his feet, Woolly in his lap, and Slinky on Kaela’s bed.
Happy (Mothers) Day to all of you whom had/have Mums – whether or not you are a Mum.

Love the new hair. Are you old enough to remember Ali McGraw in Love Means Never Having to Say You’re Sorry (aka LoveStory)? (don’t think so miss youngster!:) She wore cloches all the time. Lovely little cloches. I’m knitting you a cloche as we speak.
