Ok – so the lure of new socks has made me frog the Green and Red pair half started in the photo – so that leaves NO SOCKS and that means one other thing that is very important…..I CAN START ANOTHER PAIR STRAIGHT AWAY! Yay (it’s a sick, sick addiction for a person living in a warm climate). And this is only part of the truth…
I had started those sock some time ago and they were actually a little loose and a little too big….so Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit. The biggest decision of my life at the moment is "Which sock yarn to start a new pair with". How lucky am I that the sock yarn is a such a "problem". Don’t worry – I do realise that is very trivial!
I finished Ambers Scarf from my Knitting Loom – boy do I love that loom. It’s only a little beginners loom but the effect that weaving gives to yarns I have previously knitted with is simply amazing. Everytime I take something off the loom (at this point I have made 4 scarves and given 3 of them away and the 4th is going to a worthy recipient too)….I just want to start a new one and see what it ends up like.
This photo doesn’t really lend itself to feeling how soft the scarf turned out and how the colours all melded into one another. I was really inspired by a certain scarf that I saw in a trendy shop on the weekend and I just want to play around with the loom and see what I can create using that scarf as inspiration.
So my WIP’s list is now as follows
- Hamish’s jumper – I am already starting to worry about making him a jumper – he is 3.5 years old and in size 5/6 year old stuff as he is so tall – I am thinking he will have a major growth spurt before I even get him near cold weather to wear the jumper….I may have to resort to running the air con on cold all the time for him to even get use out of it! (Pssst – I jest).
- Alterknits Cardi – I love this and it won’t take time to finish but I am not inspired at the moment as I just finished the Torino Cardi.
- Backyard Leaves – yum – next plan of attack – but is also a "stick out my tongue to concentrate" type knit – do you know what I mean? Not one to dally in front of the tele watching Desperate Housewives or Lost. (Although Lost doesn’t take a lot of concentration does it – ok – neither does DH).
So – that kind of leaves me free to plan my next attack on something….YAY! Liberating really! I must try and keep it all a little less cluttered so I have room for inspiration and new things.

Backyard Leaves. What a beautiful pattern! I’m excited to see what you come up with to knit next!

Socks… what makes them so entertaining knitting? I often think it must be somewhere in the biological memory up here, I mean, so many generations have been knitting them… And they are so easy to start but sometimes so difficult to finish.
